This is a mix of projects where Object Technologies CEM acted, as the general and/or the sub contractor providing engineering support and providing critical services that were required to create a successful project. Cargill, Paris, IL. - Integration of a custom scale unload system using iFix 4.0.
- Additions to existing Intellution iFix SCADA system to continue the overall automation of the entire plant.
- Intellution iFix SCADA system for elevator, degermination, and milling division
Cargill, Gainesville, Ga. - Migration of the Refinery Fix32 system to iFix 4.0.
- Integration of batch reporting package using COM, Web servers and crystal reports.
- Automation of entire Mayonnaise plant using Intellution iFix and iBatch components.
- The automation system consists of 2 iFix 2.21 SCADA nodes, 1 iBatch server and 6 iFix iClient nodes with iBatch client components. Microsoft SQL server integrated to capture all batch information from iBatch, this was required for the FDA certification. All process history is being stored on OSI Pi home node on the network accessed via activeX components through the iFix workspace.
- All reports for batch information and process information is viewed using Microsoft Internet explorer using Crystal Report ActiveX technology and Active Server Pages (ASP). This allows information sharing throughout Cargill's intranet by any Cargill employee authorized to access the information.
- Modification of existing Intellution Fix32 SCADA node to capture batch and important process information related to batch in SQL and view using Active Server pages (ASP) throughout Cargill network. This involved modification of Fix32 SCADA nodes software, and creation of Crystal reports, Configuration of one IIS web server and creation of new ASP web pages to display report information.

City of Ocala Waste Water Plant, Ocala, Florida - Phase 1: Automation of the Water reclamation facility #1 using TI Controllers, DCC Bubblers and Intellution Fix32 interface.
- Phase 2: Addition of second SCADA node in redundant configuration with additional PCanywhere gateway and TeleDAC alarm paging system. Removal of ScadaPAC to PC communications link and integration into TI505 PLC.
BOC Gas, Asbestos, Quebec Canada - Automation of entire Hydrogen plant including dual reformers.
- Wonderware and TI 505 PLC’s in redundant configuration.
- Advanced control of dual reformers was a critical path during this project.
SAFT America, Inc., Valdosta, Ga. - Upgrade of all Intellution iFix 2.0 and 2.1 systems to iFix 2.21.
- Addition of crystal reports and VBA scripting to existing SCADA nodes to support database functions
City of Daytona Beach Shores, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida - Develop and install Wonderware HMI (Human Machine Interface).
- Reconfigure and reprogram existing non-functional SCADA telemetry system.
- City employees now can monitor and control all remote pumping stations and master pump station from a central control station located in the utilities annex or dial in from home on off hours.
Fort Drum Service Plaza, Florida Turnpike, Florida - Develop and install Wonderware HMI (Human Machine Interface) station to control and monitor existing wastewater treatment facility.
- Installed and configured Sytech Report Manager software to generate daily and monthly reports. These reports help city employees to project pump and blower life, preventive maintenance as well as tracking water and chemical usage.
Florida Power, St. Petersburg, Florida - Phase 1: Twelve plant control system audit to determine PI integration feasibility on an enterprise level.
- Phase 2: PI integration and control system modifications for 12 Florida Power Plants including interfaces for: Foxboro IA, Westinghouse WEStation, Levi-Lamb Ex4000, Woodward Netcon 5000, and Bailey Infi90 systems.

- Support included on-line modifications of PCS screens, APT source and tuning of all PID’s.
Morgan Industries, Atlanta, Ga. - Automation of quarry operation.
- Quarry rock crushers and conveyor systems where controlled using Allen Bradley PLC, two Allen Bradley PanelView interfaces. A RF network to home base server and custom reporting with VB 5.0 and Crystal Reports served as the method for production tracking of bucket trucks (crane style).
Ingersoll-Rand, Orlando, Florida - An Iconics HMI based system was used to provide an intelligent interface for three compressor control systems.
Florida Power and Light, St. Lucie, Florida - Active-X component library creation using Visual Basic with C++ COM/DCOM component layer. For use in PI Process Book and all other Active X compliant software packages.
- The components were wrapped into an Install Shield application for easy installation on any Microsoft Windows based machine. This component library was installed in all FP&L power plants that have iFix and other systems that support active-X technology. This produced and very large cost saving because of reusability and ease of installation.
Temex, Tampico, Mexico - The entire Hydrogen Plant was automated by using two GE 9030 PLC's in redundant configuration with Genius I/O blocks. Genius I/O was used specifically for all I/O throughout the plant.
- GE CIMplicity was used for the interface running on a Windows NT.
Florida Power, Suwannee, Florida - Y2K Solution for Suwannee River Plant
- Phase 1: The Foxboro IA system was documented and then removed from the plant.
- Phase 2: An 4 node Intellution iFix SCADA system was installed in the same location.
- A Yokogawa OPC server was used to provided direct access to the new Yokogawa Darwin data acquisition system
Florida Power, St. Petersburg, Florida - A non-Y2K compliant Leak Detection system was replaced with a new system based on InTouch Wonderware.
- The existing Modicon 984-145 Graysoft PLC software was replaced with the newest Modicon programming software. The new programming tools were used to regenerate the source code and verify Y2K compliance.
SAFT America, Inc.,Valdosta, Ga. - System 1: Replacement of non-Y2K compliant Nitrates system based on Intellution DMACS.
The new system consisted of an Allen Bradley 5/20 and Intellution iFix 2.1 software using RS-Linx as the I/O driver. Crystal reports were used to implement the reporting, Access was used for report data storage. - System 2: Replacement of non-Y2K compliant Mixing system based on Intellution DMACS.
The new system consisted of an Allen Bradley 5/20E and Intellution iFix 2.1 software using RS-Linx as the I/O driver. SQL Server was used for MIS data storage and SyTech report generation tools where used for report generation. Cargill, Sidney, Ohio - Entire Hydrogen Plant automation using, Allen Bradley PLC5 w/ Intellution Fix32 running on a Windows NT platform. RS-Logix was used for the PLC programming.
- MIS data was accessed via ODBC to Fix32 and stored in a SQL server for reporting. I/O summary includes over 300 discrete points, 40 analogs and 25 PID's. Sequencing of the pressure swing units was a critical path during this project.
Ketchikan Pulp Company, Ketchikan, Alaska - Wonderware / Allen Bradley/ Visual Basic 5.0 custom application for environmental monitoring.
La Fabril De Aceites, El Salvador, Central America - Phase 1: Entire Hydrogen Plant automation using, Siemens S5 PLC w/ Intellution Wonderware running on a Windows 95 platform. Siemens S5 programming tool was used for the PLC programming. All reporting was handled with the Wonderware environment. I/O summary includes over 250 discrete points, 40 analogs and 25 PID's. Sequencing of the pressure swing units was a critical path during this project.
- Phase 2: Siemens S5 PLC System was upgraded with the addition of an EPROM.
Rand Whitney, Montville, CT - Phase 1: New Clean Water System using Measurex MxOpen and Allen Bradley PLC's for control. All Discrete logic was coded into the Allen Bradley PLC's. All analog logic and high level control logic was coded in the Measurex DCS.
- Phase 2: Training classes and support for site personnel.
Honeywell, Atlanta, Ga. - Designed and delivered custom CD controls cabinet with Allen Bradley PLC's. All control logic was implemented in the Allen Bradley PLC. The communication link to the DCS was provided via standard serial protocol.
- Note: Currently OEM for special Honeywell/Measurex Steambox CD bays.
Rayonier, Jessup, Ga. - Designed and implemented Allen Bradley / Wonderware based system to replace existing Fisher ProVox DCS system controls. RS-Logic software was used to program the PLC's. Wonderware version 7.0 was used for the HMI. This system was configured in client / server format with redundant I/O servers, redundant communication links using RS-Linx and data highway protocols. Also contained redundant fisher ProVox links. Support software for pulp plant operations was provided. I/O count exceeded 8000 points.
Crossit Lumber, Crossit, Arkansas - Log peeling application for making plywood. All software in this system is custom and specific to this system.
Tenneco - PCA, Valdosta, Ga. - Development of custom monitoring software with alarms and report generation.
- CyberGREEN prototype, environmental monitoring system using Windows NT, Visual Basic and other Microsoft standards.
- CyberGREEN Release 1.0, environmental monitoring system using Windows NT, Windows 95, and SQL Server, Source code developed using Visual Basic Enterprise 4.0 using 3 tier architecture and OLE standards.
Westvaco, Charleston, S.C. - Large scale Distributed Control System modifications for Paper Machine #2 stock blend system upgrade using Honeywell/Measurex DCS, Allen Bradley and Foxboro. All analog control was done in the Measurex and Foxboro Spec DCS system. All discrete logic was handled by the PLC's.
- Communication between the PLC's and DCS system was implemented using standard ModBus protocols.
Tenneco - PCA, Counce, TN. - Entire paper machine automation using Foxboro I/A DCS.
- This DCS system was configured to handle all control aspects of this machine from valve position control to high-level control using paper quality readings fro the dry end of the machine. Production, waste and all flow inputs were tracked for cost efficiency.
- This system contained 6-operator stations with approximately 6000 I/O points.
Stone Container, Savannah, Ga. - Liner board paper machine application with weight and moisture machine direction controls, cross direction weight and moisture and refiner optimization.
Sonoco Products, Hartsville, S.C. - Full Distributed Control System Installation control of the paper machine #10 and all stock blending systems, tanks, motors and pumps.
- Cylinder board machine application with cascading machine direction controls.
- Sunds Defiberator - continuous digester application with full DCS control
Champion, Canton, N.C. - Xerox paper machine application with weight, moisture, ash, opacity and color machine direction controls, cross direction control and links to a Digital vax system for MIS data accumulation.
Westvaco, Charleston, S.C. - Liner board paper machine application with weight and moisture machine direction controls, caliper and weight cross direction control with custom frequency splitting control strategy.
- Full DCS control of wet end including custom user configurable stock blending and refiner control, custom dry line control, full batch processing of pulpers, radiscreen dump cycle and full interlocking implemented in Measurex PLC's. Allen Bradley link for motor start/stop controls.
- Network ODX communication links to a Vax running QCS PI software.
- Entire distributed control system was coded from scratch.

Augusta Newsprint, Augusta, Ga. - First automated de-inking process in the United States.
